Baptism

September 6th, 2004

Sunday morning we held our church service outdoors, instead of the usual location of the living room. The reason was because we were peforming baptisms in the pond. It was a beautiful day, so Mom and Dad decided we might as well have the entire service out there, worship and all. So we loaded up a couple of speakers into the Explorer, drove it down to near the pond and played worship music. After that, we had baptisms in the pond. Now, as a baby I was baptized, since we used to attend a Catholic church. But I (and many of my brothers alike) wanted to make the conscious decision to surrender to Christ and to baptize as a way to show that. So that’s what we did today, and now I can look back to the day of September 5th, 2004, when I was re-baptized. It’s basically me saying, “Lord, I’m Yours. I want to leave behind my old self and live for You.”

This afternoon, I baby-sat for the little guys. David had plenty of energy to burn, so I followed him as he did some running around through the house. I also played a game of Clue with my sister, Mary. She loves that game! By the way, it was Miss Scarlett in the dining room with the knife. Tsk, tsk.. you just can’t trust that Miss Scarlett. I knew she was bad news! And for supper, I grilled hot dogs and hamburgers for the little guys.

By the way, I’m feeling better today than I was yesterday, but I’m still a wee bit under the weather. Coughing and sneezing continues, but I’m guessing it will be over and done with in a day or two.

It’s now Labor Day. Enjoy it, everyone!
