Argh… not again!

November 3rd, 2004

Yikes. We can’t have Ohio become the Florida from 2000! President Bush has a 139,000-vote lead in Ohio. That’s three percentage points with 98% of the precincts reporting, which seems like a very substantial lead. There has been talk of “provisional ballots” in Ohio that might need to be tallied, but it seems like a near-impossible chance that even a count of those would bring Kerry close to reaching Bush’s total. But, fair is fair. I mean, it’s certainly legal and all, but it just doesn’t seem likely. That’s a really large gap between Bush and Kerry, and it probably won’t change much if those provisional ballots from Ohio are counted. Personally, I would just love for this to be over and done with and celebrate President Bush’s re-election. I sure hope we don’t see a repeat of 2000. Thankfully, it sounds like there aren’t any claims of illegal procedures or anything like that; it just seems like a delayed concession by the Kerry/Edwards team.

It’s bedtime for me. It’d be sweet to wake up tomorrow morning and read quotes from a John Kerry’s concession speech. :-) We’ll see. If I had to venture a guess, I would say that Kerry will concede tomorrow (Wednesday), and that we will have four more years of Bush/Cheney!
