Two Busch Stadiums, a little more forgiveness, and some less-than-pretty volleyball games…

December 5th, 2005

Early this morning, Dad and a few of us travelled over to downtown St. Louis in order to take a look (and some photos) of the demolition of the old Busch Stadium and the construction of the new ballpark. There must be only an eighth of the stadium remaining, as most of it has already been knocked down. One of the photos is the Photo Of The Week: http://www.famteam.com/weekly_potd.php

It was really something to see. The old stadum is supposed to be completely demolished by Christmas, and the new Busch should be ready for the Cardinals to play in it this spring. I’m glad we were able to make this trip and get some photos and video to kind of capture this moment. Before we know it, the old stadium will be long gone, so it’s nice to have it on film (or hard drive).

In church, we talked about forgiveness. How about that? :) By the way, I appreciate the feedback I’ve received on the previous entry. There were some good points made. It’s just incredible to realize how much forgiveness we are constantly experiencing, as God forgives and forgets our countless sins. When someone extends such incredible mercy towards us, how can we help but not want to extend the same grace and forgiveness towards others. It’s just an awesome thing.

This evening, we had volleyball. Paul’s team played at the same time as we (Jude and I) did, so we rode together. Unfortunately, neither team played very well. We got swept, losing all three games against the other team. Evidently, that was the outcome of Paul’s three games as well.

Those losses weren’t fun. We just didn’t play very good as a team. I made mistakes, other people did, and they just accumulated and were enough to cost us games. :( Oh well! It was still good exercise, good fun, and nobody got hurt (except for the fact that our egos took a little abuse ;)).
