Over to Elkton
Last night, we arrived at this house in Elkton, Virginia. We had been meandering all day, hitting different spots on our trip from Williamsburg. It’s a nice little house here in a ski area. Of course, it’s not really skiing weather, but I really like the layout of these types of houses. And, by the way, it’s much nicer to be in a house instead of a hotel room.
It’s actually the perfect area, as there is a nearby Golden Corral, Shoney’s and Cici’s. I’m thinking it’s a good thing that we’re not going to have too much idle time in this area. I’ve already eaten more than enough food, and I’m needing to do a little bit of damage control.
It’s not that bad, but when travelling it sure is more difficult to eat healthy and reasonably.
Well, tomorrow morning, a few of us are planning to take off for Chappaqua, New York, which is about 30 or 40 miles north of New York City. There’s a depo in Chappaqua, and it looks like tomorrow evening we’ll be able to drop in on Shea Stadium to catch the Nationals/Mets game.
We’re about to take off to take a day trip. We hope to visit Appomattox Courthouse, which is where the Civil War ended, and we also are planning to take a drive along Skyline Drive, which is supposed to be a gorgeous parkway going through the Shenandoah Valley. Mom and Dad visited this area recently, and they keep raving about the beauty seen on that road. I’m anxious to see it!
