Clinched a playoff spot
We had a couple of big wins in softball this evening, as we had a double-header scheduled to finish out the regular season. Our 8:30 game against the Kassly Stormers was actually a forfeit by them, so we just played around for fun. At 10:30, we played the really important game against the Killer Beez. We were fighting with them for the last of four playoffs spots, and it was the final game of the season for both teams. We each entered the game with a 11-7 record. The winner would make the playoffs and play next week, and the loser would be finished for the year.
Well, we were down 5-0 in the fifth inning, and then our team batted around in the top of the fifth, as we ended up scoring six runs and took the lead. They struck back, scoring a couple in the bottom of the inning. We managed to tack on a few more, and with some tight defense on our part, we pulled out a 10-8 win over the Beez, which means we’ll be in the playoffs next week. I had a pretty good game; I batted 3-4 with a single, a three-run homer, and a two-run triple. It was so great to be able to take that game.
Today, we moved FamTeam.com to a new server. We’re still ironing out a few different things, but the FamTeam Message Boards and most of the site in general should be up and running just fine. These site transfers aren’t a whole lot of fun, but I’m getting better and better at doing them, and it seems like I keep learning smarter and more efficient ways to handle the transfers.
