New shoes, new background, new knee news

March 5th, 2007

I had a great workout at the YMCA this afternoon/evening. Although I did some work with weights, I focused mainly on cardio work. I ended up doing a good 30 or 40 minutes of cross-trainer/elliptical/treadmill work, and I also played a game of three-on-three basketball.

As I left the Y, I was just totally drained. I hadn’t eaten much all day, and I was just really sore from all of the running. That’s got to be a good sign that I’m working hard, I would think. I also picked up a new pair of New Balance shoes, and I’m guessing that those are going to help me a little bit when it comes to running. The shoes I normally wear to the Y are high-top basketball shoes, and I seem to always end up having sore feet after wearing them for a while. Hopefully the new shoes will help out!

By the way, you may have noticed that I tweaked my layout. The new background photo is one I took while flying from Jacksonville to St. Louis last Wednesday. Pretty spectacular, huh? God is pretty amazing.

One more thing. Just about an hour ago, I noticed that my right knee is no longer popping when I bend it. For the past several months — ever since I hurt my knee in August while playing softball — my right knee would pop whenever I would bend it to squat or to crouch down. Today, I noticed my right knee was hurting quite a bit — probably just from use — and just a little bit ago, I noticed that it isn’t popping anymore!

I don’t know why the popping stopped suddenly, but it would be kind of neat if it doesn’t come back. If it does, that’s not a big deal, as it’s not really painful, anyway; just a strange little feeling. But the thought that the popping could stop after a half of a year is really interesting! I wonder if it will come back.
