Ever have something become just so incredibly crystal-clear to you, and you wish you could just shout it out to the masses who are lost and without a clue?
I just… I want to make a difference. I want to, somehow, some way, point people to Jesus. I’m very flawed, but if God could use me in any way to help impact any life, I want that.
I don’t even care what my mission is. I’m just tired of seeing goodhearted people being duped into going down the wrong path. I want to see people living their lives for Jesus Christ.
I don’t know what my role is here, but my heart just aches for them. God, please use me however You want to. I just want to be available for Your work, to reach people in whatever way I can. Just… use me to give glory to You.
John 1:5
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Well, we won on Monday night, and tonight we lost. I batted 2-3 yesterday and 2-3 today. Tonight, I hit two home runs, though — a grand slam and a two-run homer. Those are my first two of the year, and I was surprised that I was able to hit the ball out. Maybe I’ve gained a little more power over the winter, with all of the working out and such. I hope so!
From a PDF provided by Sony:
Even though the plug and socket will only fit completely together properly in one direction, there is still power present if either device is powered on. If there is an attempt to insert the plug INCORRECTLY (wrong polarity) the PC / MAC Computer or other Device can supply power to the signal pin of the i.LINK. This directly connects to the i.LINK IC and can damage the circuit.
In order to prevent accidental damage, the following steps must be followed when connecting DVCAM equipment to a PC / MAC Computer or other Devices via the i.LINK Port:
1. Power down the Computer / Device and DVCAM
2. Connect the i.LINK cable to the Computer / Device by visually confirming proper fit and polarity.
3. Connect the i.LINK cable to the DVCAM by visually confirming proper fit and polarity.
4. Turn on the power to the Computer / Device and then the DVCAM.
Please review these instructions carefully. Damage to the DVCAM i.LINK components caused by improper installation is not covered by Sony
Well, since my last entry, Mom and Dad have returned from their trip, we lost a one-run game on Thursday evening against Classic Auto Body, and last night, Paul, John, Mark, and I played in a Trivia Night with Grandma and Grandpa Arndt. We did pretty well, landing in seventh place out of 17 tables. We have been joining them for these yearly events for the past four or five years, and it’s always a lot of fun.
I was actually surprised by how much I knew this time around. Historically, it seems that I just don’t do as well when it comes to trivia. Maybe I just have a harder time retaining facts or something like that. Either way, though, I seemed to do pretty well, and we just had a great time altogether.
We played softball on a cold and rainy night. The temperatures were in the mid-40s, but the wind and the cold rain made it feel all the more uncomfortable.
We found ourselves in a 9-2 hole against Krush after two innings, but we managed to chip away over the next few innings, and in the seventh inning we piled on six runs, and we managed to hold on to the lead in order to net our first win of the 2007 season.
I did a little better at the plate, batting 3-5 with a pair of triples. You know, I’ve noticed that I’m able to run pretty good despite my sore knee. What really gets me, though, is having to bend it a lot. So if I can avoid a lot of sliding, I think I’m going to be pretty much like normal out there.
Anyway, we sure fought hard for this win, and it was very satisfying to manage to come out on top. By the end of the game, we were soaked and just freezing. That’s one of the most uncomfortable games I can remember playing in, because it was both cold and very rainy, and after standing out there for a while, we were all pretty well soaked through and through.
Nicer weather is on the way, thankfully, so we should be able to have some more ideal game conditions in the near future.
This evening, we played our first game of 2007. It was a 6:30 game against Gary’s Lawn Care, a premier team in the Gold League.
We were kind of rusty on offense and defense, and we ended up losing by a score of 12-5 or 12-6 — something like that. I didn’t do so well batting, as I was 1-3 with a weak single. I think a lot of us are kind of rusty, so hopefully we’ll straighten out in the next couple of games.
I also went to the YMCA in the afternoon. I was counting up the visits I made over the winter, and I think I’ve amassed roughly 70 workouts since returning from the family trip we took last fall to the northeast.
It has probably been my most focused workout regimen, and now I’m just trying to decide what the plan should be from here on out. With playing softball three nights a week, that will take up some more time, obviously. So can I justify going to the Y as often? Should I scale that back? Should I cut it out completely?
“Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
Sin has been defeated.
I am free!
Mom and Dad seem to be having a great time in Williamsburg. Paul is recovering from his knee surgery and seems to be doing well. Also, my knee is still improving. I ran today! I spent about 20 minutes running on the treadmill, and I actually felt pretty good. Not 100 percent, but I was still able to run pretty fast, and it was definitely bearable. I think I might just be able to play in our first softball game this upcoming Monday.
Thank You, God!
Today is Good Friday, and I have made a point of being cross-eyed today — that is, just trying to fix my eyes on the cross, to remember that excerpt from Isaiah 53, and to let it be real to me. Jesus Christ, the name above all names, was bruised for my transgressions, was crushed for my iniquities. It is just so humbling to realize how hopeless, how desperate I am in my sin, yet the very son of God died for me, so I can be forgiven. Just incredible!
Isaiah 53:5-6
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
