Went to the Y today. Had another good workout. Trying to work hard to get rid of a few more pounds. The knee is still steadily improving. I did a little bit of running today on the track. It hurt, but it was more bearable. I think I might just make it for Opening Day on Monday!
It got cold again! Today, we had a high temperature around 50 degrees, and it was just cold with the strong winds and the near-freezing rain. Winter is giving us one last hurrah, it looks like.
Paul had an arthroscopic surgery performed on his right knee this morning. For several years, he’s had some pretty bad knee pain, and today, hopefully, the doctor has repaired that. Speaking of right knees, mine is still improving. Still far from 100 percent, as twisting can hurt it quite a bit, but I can almost run on it now. Day by day, I’m healing. Thank You, God!
I made it to the YMCA this morning. I’m realizing that it’s going to be difficult to go to the Y this often once softball season gets underway. I’m not sure what my workout plan will be then, but I’m hoping to keep the momentum. I don’t want to just stop, although I’ll have less time to fit the workouts in, with playing three softball games a week. Maybe, if nothing else, I can go back to the twice- or thrice-a-week workout plan.
Mom and Dad landed in Williamsburg, Virginia, today. So far, so good on their trip!
I went to the Y this evening. My right knee is… definitely getting better, but it’s also certainly nowhere near 100 percent. I’m walking with nearly no limp, and it doesn’t hurt much at all when I just move around. What does hurt, though, is if I twist it or flex it. Doing that really hurts, and it really catches me off guard, because most of the time it’s feeling pretty good. But, boy — if I move it the wrong way, it sure makes me yelp. I am really hoping that I’ll be good to go this upcoming Monday, as that’s when our first softball game is scheduled.
Went to Opening Night on Sunday night with Aunt Ann. She had an extra ticket, and we sat in the sixth row. It was really neat! Too bad the Mets beat the Cardinals.
Visited the YMCA yesterday, which was John’s 25th birthday. Opening Day for our softball is next Monday. Six days until the season gets underway. I’m excited!
