As soon as we crossed into Mississippi, we encountered rainfall, and since we had two suitcases on the luggage rack on top of the car, we decided to cover the suitcases to protect it from the rain. But a few minutes after we finished that and got on the road again, we heard some flapping and tapping, and when we pulled over we saw the plastic we used to cover it was tearing. Since the rain had at least temporarily stopped, we decided to tear off the plastic and hope for the best… but as we tore it off, the rain started up again. So now we’re back on the road, packed into the minivan with two large suitcases down the center aisle, and guess what? The rain has cleared up. We’re headed to a pizza buffet now, so I guess we’ll stay there until God decides whether he wants rain or not.

Last night, we watched “Oily to Bed, Oily to Rise,” one of the better Three Stooges shorts. The trivia section on IMDB said it’s the only Stooges short in which Larry isn’t struck by Moe.

Yep! It’s really been amazing how much traveling we’ve all gotten to do in these last 10 years or so (mainly from family trips). Before then, I had been to maybe four or five states.

When we were on our way back from Florida a few years ago (in early March, I think), we came up through Arkansas and hit some pretty heavy snow! Apparently, Arkansas doesn’t get enough snow to even equip the DOT with snowplows, so we had to drive at around 25 MPH with four-wheel drive for about four hours until we finally hit the Missouri border and clear roads. Definitely makes me remember my first time through Arkansas!

Paul’s laptop, croaking at the eleventh hour, just a few hours before he was going to take it down to Florida with him. Fortunately, we were able to rush it to our emergency room. It is going under the knife right now.
